Western Australia leans male thanks to mining. And within a single city it can swing street by street: the young, going-out suburbs of inner Sydney run male-heavy, while leafier, older areas run female. The takeaway isn't to chase the odds, it's that your real local pool is nothing like the national average, so searching your actual area beats guessing.
